Join the Algonquin Inodewiziwin EarlyON Child & Family Centre in celebrating the Winter Solstice this Friday.

All community members – both those with Indigenous heritage and non-Indigenous alike – are invited to visit the Algonquin Inòdewiziwin EarlyON Child & Family Centre (Maynooth Public School, Room 2) to enjoy a feast, bond with friends, family and neighbours, and prepare ourselves for the winter season. This event will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 1pm til 3pm.

Traditionally, solstice is a time of new beginnings. The Algonquin Inòdewiziwin EarlyON Centre extends a special invitation to all community members who may be aware they have Indigenous heritage, and would like to learn more.

By celebrating winter solstice, this gathering revives our Algonquin traditions and incorporates them into a modern context. This celebration will promote a re-connection to culture, and serve as a step toward healing and reconciliation.
